Dr Jay Naik, Clinical Director/Chair, Breast Optimal Pathway Group
Dr Naik qualified and trained in Leeds.
Dr Naik has worked at the Harrogate Trust since 2020, previously having worked at Mid Yorkshire NHS Hospitals NHS Trust since 2011.
He has a sub-specialist interest in breast cancer and led the Yorkshire Cancer Network Breast Group prior to the formation of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance.
Dr Naik has a keen interest in communication and in helping patients to understand and navigate the increasingly complex treatment choices with which they are faced.
He has taken part in, contributed to and co-delivered a version of the Fallowfield/Jenkins TARGET course, aimed at enhancing clinicians' skills in advanced communication - specifically talking about risk to patients, in the context of molecular tests.
