Promoting Early/Rapid Diagnosis of Lung Cancer

Working in partnership with Cancer Research UK, the UK Lung Cancer Coalition is organising this national workshop to present evidence on the scale of the problem of lung cancer late diagnosis and treatment variation and to:

  • consider the extent to which this contributes to inequalities in care and outcomes for lung cancer patients across the UK
  • better understand the effectiveness of interventions already tested aimed at tackling both the late and slow diagnosis of lung cancer
  • present examples from across the UK of good practice in this clinical area
  • encourage health professionals, providers and commissioners to exploit any and every opportunity to promote the adoption of best practice and to develop innovative ways of achieving earlier and faster diagnosis to increase treatment rates, reduce inequalities in care and improve survival
